I only blog when I am at work with nothing to do, and for that I am sorry.  I'm sitting here at Riverton watching the Jazz game wishing I had a book to read or something to entertain me while we have no patients.  I can't post any pictures so this will be nothing special, you can stop reading whenever.

I'm 21 finally!! I had a pretty low key birthday which was perfect.  Mae slept over the night before and we watched The Avengers before bed.  This girl knows more about superheroes than most teenage boys.  My favorite thing she said was, "Tasha, do you see that?! It's a portable dimension and you'll never guess who will come out of it...LOKI!!"   She cracks me up.  My birthday morning Mae came down and woke me up with a drawing of me and her with all the Avengers and told me to come upstairs for my party.  When I got upstairs there were balloons and posters everywhere.  Mae and my parents jumped up and yelled, "surprise!!" It was so cute.

I'll post pictures later.

#lyfe

4am posts are the best so get ready for greatness. It's practically October which means its practically November which means its practically my birthday which means I'm practically 21. Throw your hands in the ayerrr!! I'm not excited for the normal reasons of getting plastered, high, and pregnant, but I won't go into that now. If you're thinking "I'm a really great friend of Tasha's, but I don't know what to get that sweet angelic girl," here are a few top notch ideas:
A boyfriend
A Honda shadow
An industrial soft serve ice cream machine
A desire to work out

A bit of sad news-Sharon has stopped taking ambien. No more conversations about nonexistent pet cats, eating popcorn like a lizard, telling my friends that frozen burritos and mac n' cheese are my favorite foods, exposing who her favorite child is, or texting gibberish to random people.
RIP Ambien.

Mother Nature has been a real bitch to me these last few days. I had a cavity filled, my piercing got super infected which caused my piercing to get embedded in my ear, I got a cold, my dear old period stopped by for a visit and I'm working a night shift. I want everyone to know that among these hardships, I am remaining positive, and I turn to Annie for comfort, (talk-sing this) "the sun will come out tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there will be sun."

Well guys its been supa flyy chit chatting with y'all. LOL. #fun #party #summa

what a day.

today was the definition of not great.

I was about to get in the shower when my phone rang.  It was my neighbor calling to tell me that my brother was having a seizure on the driveway. I rushed outside to find him completely unresponsive and multiple neighbors surrounding him looking horrified.  Piecing together the story from different people I gathered that he was riding his bike when his seizure started.  He fell and hit his head on the concrete where he had a huge gash. One neighbor was on the phone with 911 and a few minutes later an ambulance arrived, followed by a firetruck, followed by two cop cars, and finally the K-9 unit.  There was no shortage of personnel there.  The EMTs attempted to put a neck brace on him which freaked the poor kid out.  {After a seizure, Cayden doesn't know where he is or what has happened so having a bunch of people touching him and poking him didn't go over well.}  It took a sedative and four paramedics to strap him down to a board and get a neck brace on him.

During this, I was being bombarded with questions by a very good looking paramedic with a mustache, is he a diabetic, history of strokes, any allergies, medication?  Too bad I had no make up on, no bra and my hair looked wet because it was soo greasy :(

After what seemed like a lifetime he was loaded in the ambulance and headed to the ER.  I was told to drive separate so I ran downstairs put on a bra and grabbed some shoes. I met my mom and dad at the hospital where Cayden was.  The doctor ordered a CAT scan to make sure that his head was okay from his fall.  Three hours later he was cleared to go home, thankfully everything was okay:)

{Cayden in the ER}

I am so grateful for the neighbors and caring friends who rushed to Cayden's aid.  I can only hope as he goes away to college that he will be surrounded by people who are willing to help keep him safe.  I love this kid more than anything I want for him to be able to live a normal life without worrying about seizures.
 I hate epilepsy.

Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey

It's 4am and I'm sitting here at work wishing that 6:30 would get here already.  In between changing diapers and cleaning up vomit I get to sit here and blog, not back folks.

For anyone who cares, here are some of the thoughts currently occupying my mind.

  • I hope that I get hired on at Primary Children's.  My six months are up in September and I really don't want to start a job hunt, plus I really enjoy working here.
  • I really want a bagel.
  • I love my retarded dog Lucy.  Even though she runs into the sliding glass door and pees on people, there is no one who is consistently happier to see me when I get home.  She cuddles with me and eats my spilled food.  What more could I want?
  • I wish that my car was paid off.
  • I hope that I get into Weber's nursing program.  Fingers crossed.
  • I'm ready to move out.  The time has come for me to move out and meet people so I have things to do on the weekends.
  • I am going to miss my brother.  He moves out in less than a month which is much too soon.  I am going to worry about him, but my mom will be a wreck.  She made him buy a medical bracelet, which he did without a fight.  What a sweet kid.
  • I feel sick about the Colorado shooting.  I feel like crying even though I don't know anyone who was personally affected by the tragedy.  I want to hug the families of the victims as well as the shooter's family.  I hate that there is so much hatred and violence in our world today.
  • I wish that I was having a NyQuil night.  I love the taste of NyQuil and the dreams I have while on it are almost as good.
  • I wish I had someone to make out with.  Too much? At least I'm honest.
  • I need to start exercising.  I sit and think about hiking instead of getting off my ass and tackling those mountains.

Those are all my deep thoughts for today.
